Nancy Milholland

Day job: GIS Analyst/Developer, Northgate Environmental

GIS Focus: Mobile mapping, geotagged social media, asset management, public art, data modeling, and UAVs.

Nancy recently graduated with an M.S. in GIS Technology/Spatial Science from USC. Her thesis project, The San Francisco Public Art Map web application won several awards and was featured in Atlantic Cities. Prior to attending USC, she spent 11 years at Genentech in a variety of IT roles related to configuration management.

GIS is important to me beacause: I’m interested in how geographic information can reveal a different story through visualizing and analyzing data. I love how GIS can bring data from disparate sources together to illuminate an issue. GIS can help people and organizations make better-informed decisions.
